Japanese Maple Trees Grown with Love
Spirit Hill Maple Nursery grows small batch varieties of rare and popular Japanese maples. We have grafted thousands of maples that we are growing for y'all. Over 50 varieties! We started growing maples in 2019 and sold our first trees in the spring of 2022. We are a young nursery, family run, and we are learning the fine art of side veneer grafting.
Our trees are grown in the midsouth, not in a hoop house on the west coast and imported in early spring unconditioned for our summer heat. We are dedicated to grafting and growing Japanese maple trees that do well in the midsouth. Our trees are grown outdoors under the forest canopy on a historic property in the Shelby Forest Community adjacent to Meeman-Shelby Forest State Park along the Mississippi river. Our trees have experienced the same weather your home has gotten and are conditioned and ready for your yard with our heat, our sun, our humidity and our spring freezes.
For various reasons we occasionally do purchase one gallon trees but we do not offer one gallon trees for sale. We are committed to at least two growing seasons before we offer trees for market.
We sell 3 gallon, 5 gallon and 10 gallon trees. We do not ship, but may be available to deliver in the Memphis metro area. This year, 2025, we are offering more cultivars than ever at least 30; we are propagating over 50 varieties for the future.
